Preparing Tomorrow's Pastors for Mission in the Digital Age

Your First Call Will Have a Digital Mission Field

The mission field is increasingly digital.

LDML @Sem connects seminarians with pastors, mentors, resources, and hands-on opportunities that help them think faithfully and practically about digital ministry before receiving their first call.

Seminary prepares future pastors to preach the Word, administer the Sacraments, teach the faith, and care for God's people. And today's pastors also enter congregations navigating websites, livestreams, social media, online communities, artificial intelligence, digital evangelism, and rapidly changing technology.

LDML @Sem exists to help seminarians approach that world with theological clarity and practical confidence beyond the classroom, without allowing technology to redefine the pastoral office or the Church's mission.

What is LDML @Sem

LDML @Sem is a Seminarian initiative of the Lutheran Digital Mission League.

Through relationships with clergy, practical training, collaborative projects, and campus community, seminarians can explore how digital tools can faithfully serve the Church's proclamation of Christ.

Four Ways to Participate

CONNECT and build relationships by meeting pastors, church workers, fellow seminarians, and Lutheran professionals interested in faithful digital witness.

LEARN and develop practical skills by participating in workshops, conversations, and resources covering parish communications, social media, websites, video, podcasting, AI, apologetics, digital evangelism, and emerging technology.

SERVE and work on real projects by putting your abilities to work through LDML projects, parish initiatives, research, content creation, and other opportunities serving the Church.

PREPARE and take it into your first call by developing principles, relationships, and practical skills that can help you thoughtfully approach digital ministry when you enter parish service.
